A Foolproof Mother’s Day Brunch

When planning a brunch, I try to keep things simple and elegant. I’ve learned that the less I overthink, the more enjoyable it is — not just for me, but for everyone. Simplicity doesn’t mean a lack of effort; it just means creating a setting where guests feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.

One Week Before: Plan Your Menu

I love making quiche for brunch. It's a dish that can easily be prepared in advance. You can make it up to a week ahead, freeze it, and simply reheat it before serving. (Some of my favorite recipes are linked here.)

Add a side of fresh fruit, warm butter croissants, and a lightly dressed salad, and your menu is complete.

If you’d like to include something sweet, I highly recommend the macarons from Trader Joe’s. You’ll find them in the freezer section, and they’re fantastic!

Beverages: Keep It Thoughtful

Make sure to have something for everyone: coffee, tea, orange juice, and of course, champagne for mimosas.

Want to elevate things a bit? Replace the mimosa with a French 75, my favorite bougie cocktail that adds a special touch to your brunch.

Two Days Before: Prep the Table

This is a great time to iron your linens and start setting your table. Be sure to have enough napkins, tableware, and serving pieces for all of your guests.
You can shop my handcrafted linens [here].

Also, take a moment to clean and polish your glasses and silverware. A sparkling place setting makes your brunch feel even more intentional and elegant.

One Day Before: Flowers & Final Details

I usually pick up fresh blooms from Trader Joe’s. They always have lovely seasonal options, and I recommend buying more than you think you’ll need. I always end up wishing I had one more bouquet!

Arrange your flowers in simple glass vases, sprinkle in a few tea lights, and keep it effortless.

Remove your quiche from the freezer and place it in the fridge overnight so it’s ready to reheat quickly the next day.

Mother’s Day: Savor the Moment

Take a breath, pour yourself a coffee (or a mimosa), and enjoy. This is a day to honor the mothers, grandmothers, and mother figures in your life.

Savor the setting you’ve created, the food you’ve prepared, and the memories being made.

Bon Appétit!
